First things first

I think we tend to complicate our lives, focusing on the wrong things. If we do, we can actually get off track...we need to remember that if we are living in the will of God, that being honoring him and living out his word, we are in his will, therefore living out our purpose in life. 
In Matthew 6:33 it says "but seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and "ALL these things will be added to you." 

In my mind, "these other things" means anything in this world and the details of our lives, like food, money for bills, and other life goals we worry about. Our top priority in life should be seeking to do things first, for God...what a great promise and perspective.
