Be An Agent Of Good

Never in my life would I have thought that the very University that we would send our youngest son off to venture into college life would end up discovering has a random gunman come on campus and shoot and injur and kill students. There are no words of explanation! I had a hard time even coming up with a blog post after our college of choice Seattle Pacific University had this happen about 2 weeks ago. I stood in utter shock over this being on the news, Face book and Twitter.
We put lots of time, effort, prayer, counsel over this decision when our son was graduating from High School last May. We looked into the college and visited the campus, we felt very good about his choice for this to be where we would commit to attending.

Although I would never in my mind imagine this shooting tragedy at SPU would ever in my craziest thoughts would occur when we were moving our son Jake to live there and attend college this past January...I stand amazed over this school's response as a parent! So proud of the staff and their genuine concern for the students and took great measures to protect and nurture a good ending to the school year after such a tragic end.

Remember, It's not about the 'event' and where it occurs...evil has no boundaries, it's inevitable because we live in a broken world. BUT, remember that evil never has the last word. Death does not have the last word, he wants to make us an "agent" of goodness, of peace of hope for what is our goal.

We are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37) (Romans 8:22-25) We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to son ship, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
