Why do you think we need to ask God to lead us to a rock that is "higher" than ourselves ? It is because way down 'there' in the midst of trials and struggles, pain and suffering, we can't see beyond our own circumstances. We need to ask him to lift us up sometimes, to see on the other side of trouble. On that other side it may look clearer, brighter, hopeful. It is just sometimes we have to ask. Don't miss out on what is on that other side of the rock, that mountain you stand near. Also in Psalm 3:3 it says, "but you of Lord, are a shield around me; you are my glory and the one who holds my head high."
