Antiques and a story behind this glass beauty

When I lived in Washington State I was near family...my mom and I used to love to go to Snohomish to go sailing through the lovely and famous downtown where you will find almost every shop is an antique store. We loved the feeling so much we decided to become antique dealers ourselves and to rent a space in one of the shops.

This venture of ours could actually be made into a novel.."The Antiquing adventures of Victoria & Charlotte Treasures" or something close to it! I say this because what we started to deem as a money making adventure or even just a fun expedition for mother/daughter ended up being quite the back breaking yet exuberant task! We started out going to thrift stores, estate sales and garage sales ..every and any chance to collect as many low cost antique to vintage gems as we could. This innocent idea we had turned into borderline obsession to the most fun degree! Old pots, old teacups, English bone china, firestone, vintage Pyrex bowls and dishes, biscuit tins from Holland, English tea tins, antique pictures, clocks, Waterfall furniture, old dolls etc etc...

We rented our spot after collecting as much as we could to have a nice little decorated spot in our downtown Snohomish store and we did pretty good but we realized one day that the 'upkeep' to this line of work was becoming more of a chore and a burden than how we first envisioned it to be.  The love of the hobby became more than earning any money and it started to cost more to rent the spot and our buying exceeded our income.
There is something really special about holding an antique treasure in your hands and thinking about where it came from, whose house hundreds of years ago it was in, where the family kept it in their home for display or use and it brings such a depth to the item to realize this. This is one of the items we are now selling on our Etsy page at Victoria & Charlotte Treasures.

We really enjoy collecting still but more than antiquing together, our online store is now featuring our handmade and "upscaled" vintage gems. Take a look and see where our 'dream' and love back in our Antique space still is there, but we are now enjoying the tech era and saving our backs ! :)
