Treasures In Darkness

"When it's dark, God has us in the rock's cleft, covered us with His hand. Dark may be the holiest ground: God's passing by." ~One Thousand Gifts...

It's true, we fear darkness. As early as you can remember you can recall to mind a time where you were "afraid of the dark." It is just natural to feel that way. As we gain knowledge and understanding however, we realize that there are hidden treasures in darkness, even times of life's dark times there is a presence of the wisdom of God that leans us closer to him. When you are in a dark room, a dark campground, what is the first thing you are anxiously scramming to find-the light! We search for a flashlight, light switch or candle. It's just the wisdom we have that that is the smart and right thing to do! Well, think about the dark times of your life's journey...dark with depression, illness, fear, shame, anger, or just simply a season in your life that is lasting longer than you feel is comfortable for you. What you need more than ever during these days and times is the light....The light of Christ, God's word to us. In Isaiah  45:3 it so beautifully states " I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who calls you by name." Wow, did you read that? God says there is to be found some treasure in a dark place! I call that amazing and it makes us see there is a purpose in everything, even in the dark.
