What is paradise to you? There are 3 definitions of the word "paradise" when I look it up. 1. Heaven, 2.) a place of extreme beauty, delight and happiness and 3.) a state of supreme happiness and bliss.
As a believer we are to have as our ultimate ambition and hope as the future of paradise in God's presence. Today in this culture we do not even talk much about Heaven. It seems that many people are confused about the afterlife and even in churches we don't address the topic much and the subject is watered down. In Romans 8 it says, "But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait patiently for it." The ultimate destination is Heaven, paradise...yet we do not see it, and we do not see our Lord our God yet, we know He is there and for the believer we are waiting for our place there. God's word is full of scripture that addresses the topic of faith and hope and as in Hebrews 11:1, "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Also In Romans 8:26 it also says, " In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.." What confidence we have in Him and this increases our faith even more. We need to live in light of the prize we are waiting for....our home, Heaven.
