Bloom Where You Are Planted

"Bloom where you are planted" is a great quote by Erma Bombeck. Recently, as I was preparing a plane itinerary for upcoming travel out of country with my husband who does a lot of speaking internationally. I realized that quote by Bombeck can mean the same thing for someone like me but I had a new revelation about it's meaning. We tend to take quotes like that literally, but I think it means "bloom where you are and never leave that place" to be the right way. I was visualizing it this way recently. What if we planted ourselves in pots in front of our yards and around our houses and in the backyard, rather than in the ground? I can relate to that! We have to 'think outside the box' sometimes with philosophies like these and do what we need to for our own personal life story.
I see my life's roots as in potted planters and gardening boxes that can still grow vibrantly in those pots and planters, but If I move, I pick them up and take them with me to the next house or state or place on the map. Always blooming and growing in the roots, but moving where God takes you!
The blooming in your life is still the same, it's just the way my life may be different from yours.
So, wherever you are planted, BLOOM! It's about growth and not about where you are!
Colossians 2:7 says, "Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him." If we are rooted and planted in Christ, then it doesn't matter what you are planted. It's all a matter of your foundation. :)
