"Obviously, I'm not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ's servant" Galatians 1:10
Do you want to be famous? I do not have any motives or intentions to become well-known. "Why not?" you ask? I want to be the type of person that earns status, recognition and notoriety, someone who doesn't ask, beg or strive for it if I am going to become that at all. I want to make an impact from all social media venues, writing a book, blogging, and other means. I will do whatever I can to be a positive influence and make a difference to change people's habits, hearts and lives for the better of their quality of life to live and impact their world for God. If that motive leads me to be "known" by people in a more known way, that is great! I just want to earn and deserve my place. I have to also admit that I do have Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and this blog! I am loving this but I do not and will not ask someone to follow me. I want it to be something you decide:)
Are you the type of person when a special holiday comes around and you want to make sure your loved ones 'remember' you with flowers, candy or a special gift? Do you feel the urge to send friendly helpful sly reminders, saying, "oh my, tomorrow is Mother's Day!" (hint and a wink) and you may even mention to your husband that you love this or that in an online catalog?
If you have ever found yourself in one of these categories or scenarios, I want to encourage and challenge you to try something new the next time you seek the approval from others this way. You will really be amazed how much more confidence you will gained knowing you are "OK" just with yourself, with God's approval and you will be so much more attractive to your loved ones when they know you trusted them enough to give them the benefit of the doubt that you know they will do something from their heart and that is the better way for everyone!
Beth Moore said it well in a study I recently went through, "the way up is down." Also in 1 Peter 5:6, "Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you."
