"We talk about "victory" so much that we can miss the "path" it takes to get to victory"
The other day I decided to not respond to any text messages on purpose to try to have a quality day with my family, just one day without it. People (my dear friends and family) are so used to me texting immediately, that within the first 2 hours of my text fasting day, my IPhone was exploding of messages, pix, texts, Kik's and chats so much that I had to give in and alert a few people that I was indeed, "alive and well".
This can affect our goals. We are so used to fast, instant communication and literally information is at our gadget's touch of a finger's reach anymore that we get frustrated with our progress of these things that do take more time to accomplish. One being weight loss, or fitness, maybe eating better, healthier lifestyle or kicking a habit. These things are sometimes going to take weeks or months maybe even a year to really, truly see lasting change. Will you have learned the patience to go the distance?
My advice is to not concentrate so much on the end victory or goal to get to, rather, find small victories along the path to the main finish line to prize yourself with success. This will enable you to see small steps to the leaping end! In today's world we are trained to do it otherwise, so we have to slow down and appreciate the efforts we see now, stop hyper focusing on the speed of your life and getting frustrated with yourself and achieving those goals, instead, enjoy the here and now, rewarding yourself along the path to victory!
